Serving the Irish market since 1998, O’Regan Plant Sales are the main Yanmar dealers for Munster and most of Leinster. We touched base with sales representative Stephen O’Regan to discuss the extensive range of heavy plant, construction and compact agri machinery available for sale and hire.

“Having started in this line of work at a very young age, our MD Con O’Regan knows machinery and the industry inside-out,” notes sales representative Stephen O’Regan [no relation]. “We have a very strong team in place, with good people in the sales department, parts department, garage and tractor department. As Stephen attests, the range of equipment covers literally every and any groundworks eventuality: “We cover everything from the 1-tonne mini excavator / micro digger [SV08-1A] at 800kg – which is the narrowest on the market at 730mm wide and will go in a front door – up to a 12-tonne excavator and everything in between.” O’Regan Plant Sales are specialists in the mini excavator business, with more than 14 different machines to choose from. While lots of manufacturers make compact diggers, none come close to Yanmar for their focus on innovation and quality. Since introducing the world’s first mini excavator in 1968, they have been leading the way in compact equipment.
Yanmar produce ultra mini excavators right up to larger mini or midi excavators, each specifically designed and built to triumph on the most challenging sites and conditions, to be fuel efficient, exceptionally flexible and work with unrivalled power. Wheeled excavators are available in 7.5-tonne, 9.5-tonne and 11 tonne, while Yanmar’s range of loading shovels includes the V80 (65hp with 2-tonne lift capacity), V100 (75hp with 3-tonne lift capacity and the flagship V120 (100hp with a lift capacity of 3.5-tonne).
The loading shovel range is among the most fuel efficient on the market, powered by ‘Tier Five Final’ diesel engines. Even though they are extremely fuel efficient, they still pack a very powerful punch to move and lift heavy loads with ease. Along with this power, they are very agile and can effortlessly negotiate tight spots. In tough conditions, change from ‘Full Auto Mode’ to ‘Fixed Speed’ to gain max torque. In a single motion, the clever ‘Auto-Leveler’ will bring the older bucket back to a digging action.
As leading wheel loading manufacturers, Yanmar have incorporated the oscillating axle to the rear with a comfortable cabin up front that guards the operator against receiving a pounding on bumps and slopes – so you can keep working for longer without feeling the strain of a heavy day!

“As of this year, we also took on the dealership for Yanmar compact tractors, which are made in the Netherlands,” Stephen continues. “There are five different models which are all highly-spec’ed as standard and available with a host of options – 22hp, 26hp, 35hp, 47hp and 60hp.”
