Precise Contracts – construction you can count on

11 May , 2021

Established in 2014 and based on the outskirts of Newry, Co. Down, Precise Contracts Ltd has grown to take its place as one of the most progressive main contractors in the marketplace today.

The company was founded by brothers Eamonn and Connor Toner who have over 30 years’ combined fitout and joinery experience and expertise. Initially a carpentry sub-contractor, Precise Contracts now specialises in main contracting and construction management, and expects its turnover to double this year.

Operating within the public and private sectors, the company is involved in the educational, healthcare, commercial, conservation and residential sectors both north and south of the border. It is committed to completing projects within budget and to the highest standards, and strives to establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, design teams and the supply chain, thus allowing it to grow and adapt to meet the needs of a challenging and ever-changing construction industry.

“We’re an ambitious young company which has been lucky enough to expand rapidly since branching into main contracting,” explains Eamonn Toner, who is a quantity surveyor by profession.

“The COVID pandemic gave us the opportunity to transition into main contracting quicker than expected. Prior to the pandemic, our primary focus was on sub-contract carpentry with a view to gradually moving into main contracting through time. However, having been given a major break to switch, we decided that it would be the best time for us to take the opportunity.

“We’re going from strength to strength and have a growing client-base which includes private clients, local authorities and housing associations to name but a few.”

Outstanding workmanship, attention to detail, value-for-money and a commitment to working closely with clients to deliver total satisfaction are the hallmarks of Precise Contracts. Health & Safety is at the core of the business, and never more so than in this COVID age. From concept to completion, the Precise Contracts team are with you every step of the way, ensuring that your new project is designed and built to your specific needs, and that there are no hidden or extra costs involved.

Whether your next project is a new build, restoration or refurbishment, the Co. Down contractor’s one-stop shop approach will ensure that both the design and building processes are smooth, comfortable and hassle-free. Precise Contracts’ reputation for quality construction and ability to complete projects on time and within the agreed budget is borne out by the high volume of repeat business and referrals it receives from satisfied clients.

“We sub-contract work to the same tried and trusted tradesmen. By employing highly-skilled people, working closely with leading architects and engineers, and using only the very best building products, we’re able to deliver the highest quality construction to our clients,” Eamonn adds.

A member of CIRI (Construction Industry Register Ireland), the company maintains an Integrated Management System across Quality (ISO 9001), Environmental (ISO 14001) and Health & Safety (45001) standards, operating industry best practices. With an experienced workforce and reputable supply chain, it maintains exemplary standards across all facets of the company, ensuring successful completion of all works.

“We approach every project, regardless of size, with honesty, integrity and full commitment. Through our skilled project management teams, we ensure quality standards exceed specification requirements, while monitoring cost control throughout the project. We value relationships and seek to build trust with all stakeholders,” Eamonn says.

Recent projects undertaken by Precise Contracts include a mix of varied assignments, from construction of new build homes, refurbishment of the façade of a 16th century fortified castle to fitout and refurbishment of university student accommodation.

“We were delighted to refurbish Bagenal’s Castle, which is home to the Newry and Mourne Museum, and Newry Visitor Information Centre. It’s an early example of a fortified residence, a type of building which was favoured by the gentry in Ireland in the 16th century.”

“We also refurbished classrooms in Kishoge Community College in Lucan, Co. Dublin to facilitate the school in the reopening after the pandemic and Grand Hall Common Room at John Bell House in Belfast. We’re currently building a large private modern build in Derryleckagh near Newry and have plenty of work ahead of us.”

With a new website also launching soon, these are certainly exciting times for this exceptional family-run business. Eamonn and Connor would like to take this opportunity to thank their clients, suppliers and design teams for their continued support, as well as their staff for their hard work, dedication and skill.
