Providing the highest quality electrical services

20 Nov , 2023

Operating out of Crosshaven, Co Cork, Haven Electrical Ltd is a professional, hardworking and reliable electrical contractor which holds an excellent reputation amongst its clientele. Building Ireland touched base with Managing Director Stephen Kiely to find out all about this thriving business – from its origins to the projects it has on-going at the moment.

Business continues to flourish at Haven Electrical Ltd, so much so that the company is on course for its record turnover year according to Managing Director Stephen Kiely.

The Co Cork native established his electrical contracting firm in 2011 and has grown it to the point where it today it employs 14 full-time staff and has three vans on the road.

Based in Crosshaven, Co Cork, Haven Electrical Ltd offers services to the wider Cork area and is also a Safe Electric registered company that delivers work to the current regulation standards.

Building Ireland caught up with Stephen Kiely recently to learn more on what the company is about and its overall hopes going forward.

“We mainly provide our services in the domestic and commercial area,” he outlined.

“We’re doing several housing estates around Co Cork at the minute and we do a lot of one-off houses, along with different commercial projects.

“Then we also do electrical property maintenance.”

Haven Electrical Ltd provides its clients with a vast and dynamic range of electrical services for domestic homes, commercial properties, industrial and retail buildings.

It’s a reliable electrical contract with a trustworthy team of fully qualified electricians who are all up to date with current regulations.

As a local business, it’s immensely proud of the customer service track record that it holds, with clients from all sectors returning time and time again for all of their needs.

Since ‘Day One’, the focus at Haven Electrical Ltd has always been based around an excellent customer service.

It’s a quality trait which Stephen has carried through after having learned the ropes from his father in the contracting game and then eventually going out on his own at the age of just 21.

“My dad was a contractor before me and he had a business of his own for about 30 or 40 years. So, he retired from that about 12 years ago and I got into it then,” he explained.

“Getting off the ground for me then with my own company would’ve been tough enough. I was only 21 at the time and it was hard to get business when you’re young like.

“So, the first five or six years was tough, but the last few years here have been a huge improvement on that I would say.”

Even throughout the unprecedented times brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, Haven Electrical Ltd “got busier”, according to Stephen, and today the projects are flowing all throughout the Rebel County (and beyond its borders).

Indeed, the signs look to be very positive going forward.

“This year I would say will be our record turnover year,” said the Managing Director.

“In the last four years, it has been growing steady enough and every year it’s been getting bigger and bigger.”

He added: “On-going at the minute we have a housing estate in Kilworth in Cork, a housing estate in Mallow and a housing estate in Carrigaline.

“Then we’re doing a renovation of a swimming pool in Trabolgan Fitness Centre in Whitegate and we’ve done a lot of work in the Montenotte Hotel. We’ve done a lot of commercial projects up there in the last few months and then we have a few one off-houses and small jobs here and there type of thing.”

So, the burning question is, what has been the secret behind the company’s success to date?

How has a small start-up grown into what is now a flourishing electrical contracting firm which is seemingly growing year on year and holds a glowing reputation among its clients?

For Stephen, much of it comes down to the quality of work that is carried out time and time again, as well as the strong working relationships he has built up with clients over the past dozen years.

“I’d like to think that we get on with customers well here,” he stated. “We tend to deal with them over and over again and I’d like to think that’s the reason why.”

At Haven Electrical Ltd, the mission is always to provide the highest quality electrical services and also establish long-term relationships with all of its customers along the way.

The company is dedicated to anticipating the customer’s needs and exceeding expectations while delivering the best results.

Haven Electrical Ltd prides itself on honesty, safety and a prompt service to ensure that its customers are getting the best service possible.

Looking at the months ahead for the business, Stephen himself is eager to continue delivering first class projects and perhaps see the company expanding some more along the way.

“If it keeps going the way it’s going, I think we’d be happy enough here,” said the Corkonian.

“We should have 12 to 18 months ahead of us with the work that’s there and it’s looking positive enough.

“Hopefully, we can grow a bit as well. We’re always looking for good lads here, but it’s hard to get them as well.”

Haven Electrical Ltd offers free quotes with no hidden costs and no obligation to proceed. The company likes to give its customers the ‘no pressure’ feeling to which it is entirely up to them whether to go ahead.
