Norris Bros Ltd was established in Englishtown near Stradbally, Co. Waterford in 1981 and has since become one of Ireland’s leading structural steel and cladding specialists, providing solutions to the industrial, commercial, leisure and agricultural sectors. The company is renowned for its technical expertise, high-quality workmanship and ensuring viable and cost-effective solutions are achieved for its customers. It is this attention to detail which has led to a large volume of repeat orders from a wide range of clients in both Ireland and the UK.

The family-run business employs only the best and most experienced draughtsmen, fabricators, welders and erectors. The production processes take place in a 35,000 sq. ft. purpose-built facility, which has a capacity to fabricate in excess of 150 tonnes of steel per week and houses an extensive storage area. No project is too big or too small for this thriving business which is a fully accredited CE certified structural steel operation, complies with all health and safety legislation, is fully insured, REA compliant and uses only the best quality materials.

The primary business at Norris Brothers Limited is in the fabrication and erection of all types of structural steel. The company employ top qualified draughtsmen to operate the StruCad/StruMis 3D modelling and nesting system, with its automated integrated systems ensuring full traceability and identification of raw materials through fabrication and erection. The Norris Bros Ltd drawing office is network-linked to a fabrication unit, allowing fabrication drawings to be downloaded electronically to the in-house saw and drilling line, and construction drawings to be issued to the erection team.

With their own shot-blasting equipment and 12,000 sq. ft. dedicated spray shop, Norris Bros Ltd ensure that a high-quality finish is consistently achieved. All steel is shot-blasted in-house to a minimum of S.A 2.5 and the company works closely with its manufacturers to ensure that the most appropriate and durable products are used at all times. Other finishes that are offered include: intumescent painting, finish-coat painting and galvanising.

Transportation to site is carried out by their own trucks and trailers, and by direct contract hauliers to ensure delivery is on time and cost-effective. Erection is carried out by their own team of experienced and qualified steel erectors. Certification of all equipment and machinery used on site is always kept up to date and safety is a number one priority, which is reflected in Norris Bros Limited exemplary safety record. All erectors have received necessary training as required by the safety, health and welfare at work regulations, and all are equipped with necessary certified personal protection equipment.

Norris Bros Ltd is an approved installer for several cladding manufacturers including Kingspan, Eurobond, Corus, Tegral Metal Forming and Duggan Profiles. The company supplies and installs a range of insulated and single skin wall, roof and facade panel systems in a variety of profiles, finishes and colours. It is also qualified and insured to strip and remove existing asbestos sheeting and ensure correct disposal of such material with full certification.

Norris Bros Ltd has completed many projects throughout the commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, educational and healthcare sectors in recent years. Initially formed by John and Frances along with the late Nicholas Norris, to meet the demands of the agricultural sector, Norris Bros Ltd is now primarily involved in the industrial / commercial sector which accounts for as much as 95 per cent of its overall business. The company continues to be run by the Norris family with Sean Norris fulfilling the roles of managing director and financial controller. His first cousin Michael Norris is company director and site manager, John Norris is also company director as well as being in charge of sales and operations, with company secretary Frances Norris also being a director.

Matthew Lynch is purchasing procurement manager and senior draughtsman, David Walsh is senior quantity surveyor and Jamie Power is structural engineer. The company has 32 full-time staff on its books and employs a further 18 site personnel full time on a sub-contract basis.
