The company rigorously adheres to the standards of the SafeTCert safety management systems and has the distinction of being accredited with an ‘A’ graded SafeTCert for the past four consecutive years. KDK Scaffolding’s commitment to health and safety is reflected in the fact that it’s the only company in Ireland to operate scaffold inspection software, which produces all health and safety compliance documents.

KDK Scaffolding enjoys an excellent working relationship with many of Ireland’s leading building contractors, including John Sisk & Son, John Paul Construction, Collen Construction, PJ Hegarty, JJ Rhatigan, Bam, Dornan Engineering, Jones Engineering, Cosgrave Developments and many more. While the majority of the Co. Wexford-based company’s work is concentrated in Dublin, it provides a nationwide service with Cork, Galway and Waterford among the other counties it has completed contracts in. One of the most prestigious projects KDK was associated with was the 33-metre high Miesian Plaza, which is one of Dublin’s tallest buildings. The main contractor on the project was John Paul Construction. The Great Island Power Station in Campile, Co. Wexford and the new Glanbia dairy facility in Kilkenny are other high-profile contracts KDK has undertaken.

The company’s portfolio of works also includes Waterloo Exchange, 3 Arena, Trinity College Bioscience Building, St. Vincent’s Hospital, St. Vincent’s Private Hospital, Bewley’s Dublin Airport Hotel, St. James’ Hospital, Beaumont Hospital, Irish Country Meats, Analog Devices, Limerick, Skibbereen and Rathnew, and Tramore Community Schools along with residential developments in Shankill, Killiney, Tyrrellstown and Adamstown Square in Lucan.Currently, KDK Scaffolding is the main scaffolding contractor on the West Pharmaceuticals plant in Waterford for John Sisk & Son, Neptune Blocks 9 and 10, Honeypark, Dun Laoghaire for Cosgrave Developments, Charlemount Street regeneration project (Block 3) for JJ Rhatigan and Millstreet student accommodation for Bam. Neptune Blocks 9 and 10 is a 300-apartment development and follows on from the completion of 150 apartments at Block 8, for which KDK also provided a complete scaffolding package. The Charlemount Street redevelopment involves the construction of 253 new apartments consisting of 139 social housing units and 105 private apartments. Some retail units and a sports / community centre are included in the scheme.

The Millstreet student accommodation project comprises the design and construction of a four-seven storey courtyard block made up of six cores with a gross floor area of 12,500m2. Accommodation includes 399 bedrooms across 61 cluster flats. In addition, KDK carries out maintenance work on an ongoing basis for the likes of Amgen Pharmaceuticals in Dun Laoghaire, Coca-Cola (FMW) in Wexford, Ipsen Manufacturing in Blanchardstown and Danone in Wexford.

In February, KDK Scaffolding was appointed authorised dealer in Ireland for ALFIX products. For more than 60 years, the German company has been developing and manufacturing convenient, safe and modern scaffolding systems. ALFIX is an innovative, established brand for façade and modular scaffolding systems, mobile towers and temporary roofing systems in the European market.

KDK has also recently set up a scaffold shot-blasting, testing and re-painting department at its Enniscorthy base. The company mechanically tests standards and visually inspects all components to ensure they are safe to use. The scaffold is then shot-blasted with a semi-automatic Pangborne shot-blasting machine, visually inspected for a second time and then painted in your own corporate colour. KDK caters for large or small orders. There is a short turnaround on orders, while a collection and delivery service can also be arranged nationwide. KDK Scaffolding are also accredited with BM Trada Certification for scaffold board inspection and are accredited with EcoMerit.

The scaffolding contractor fulfils its corporate social responsibility by partnering with the Co. Wexford Community Workshop in-tuition training course. It was also the main sponsor for the local Ballymurn 5K Fun Run which took place on Sunday, January 22 last. The Fun Run raised almost €5,500 for Temple Street Children’s Hospital and Ballymurn National School, with all the costs of staging the event being covered by KDK.
