The double success recognises the Ennis-headquartered firm’s unwavering commitment to achieving the highest possible standards of Health & Safety in the workplace. Showcasing the safety performance of businesses nationwide, the NISO Awards have become Ireland’s premier safety awards.

“We were both surprised and delighted to win the two awards,” CES Environmental Services managing director Flann Cahir enthuses.

This commitment has played a key role in maintaining its strong reputation as a trusted environmental services provider across Ireland.

Performance monitoring, incident reporting and investigation, communication, continuous training, and internal and external audits are central to maintaining the safest possible working environment.

CES Environmental Services is an environmental waste management and services company focused on providing sustainable and compliant waste and environmental solutions with nationwide coverage. From humble beginnings in 2009 when it was set up by husband-and-wife Flann and Claire Cahir, it has grown to employ 24 people and run a fleet of 26 vehicles. With offices in Ennis and Cork, and a dedicated operational base in Dublin, the company is perfectly-positioned to provide efficient and responsive services across Ireland.

“Claire and I founded CES with a clear purpose of building a company that delivers reliable, responsible and results-driven environmental solutions, while staying grounded in strong family values,” Flann explains.

“Starting the business together wasn’t just a practical decision – it was a shared commitment. We combined our strengths, experience and vision to create a service that puts integrity, professionalism and people at the core of everything we do.

“As co-founders, we’ve worked side-by-side to grow CES Environmental Services from the ground up, always focused on doing things the right way for our clients, for our team, and for the environment. The company evolved from a small agri contracting business which I ran from Doora-Barefield on the outskirts of Ennis. I started off with a van jetter and a single truck, and was soon joined by Claire, whose background is in finance.”

With a strong commitment to environmental responsibility and regulatory compliance, CES Environmental Services provides tailored services that help clients manage waste efficiently while reducing environmental impact. With a team of experienced professionals and a modern fleet of specialist vehicles, it ensures safe, reliable and fully compliant service delivery across all sectors — including industrial, commercial, manufacturing, automotive and public services.

The award-winning company’s comprehensive range of services include: Drainage CCTV Surveying / Reporting; Drainage Pressure Testing and Rehabilitation; Drain & Sewer Relining; Robotic Cutting; Waste Water Tankering & Disposal; Pumpstation Emptying & Disposal; Oil Interceptor Emptying / Servicing; Waste Oil Collection & Recycling; Grease Trap Emptying & Disposal; and Confined Space Entry Specialists. It also recently introduced a new Portable Toilet Hire and Servicing division for Clare, Limerick and Galway.

CES Environmental Services operates a large and modern fleet of specialist vehicles, including high-performance jet vacuum recyclers and deep suction specialist tankers such as Müller, Rolba and JHL as well as various rigid and articulated vacuum tankers, which enable it to carry out complex waste handling and industrial cleaning operations efficiently and safely.

For drainage and sewer inspections, the company utilises advanced IPEK mainline CCTV equipment, and Wincan reporting software, providing high-resolution footage and precise diagnostics to support effective maintenance and repair strategies.

“We’ve invested heavily in technology such as cameras and software from the start, and are the biggest suppliers of CCTV surveying in the country,” Claire says.

CES Environmental Services proudly supports a wide range of public and private sector clients across Ireland. Its tailored environmental and waste management solutions are trusted by organisations operating in critical and highly-regulated industries, including Uisce Éireann, Government Departments and Agencies, Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences, Hospitality & Tourism, Construction & Civil Engineering, HSE and Local Authorities nationwide.

At CES Environmental Services, they go beyond basic compliance and cleanup, delivering sustainable, client-focused environmental solutions with long-term impact. What truly sets the company apart in the environmental services industry is its customised, client-centred solutions, responsiveness and reliability, cutting-edge technology and methods, deep regulatory knowledge, commitment to sustainability and hands-on expertise.

An ever-expanding client-base chooses CES Environmental Services for accurate, high-tech surveying, fast reporting with clear results, experienced and certified technicians, problem solving expertise, minimal disruption, maximum efficiency, trust and transparency.

CES Environmental Services’ greatest asset is its people. The Co. Clare company has built a team that doesn’t just meet industry standards, but sets them. Its fully qualified and continuously trained technicians, engineers and support staff boast years of hands-on experience across all areas of environmental services, from drain surveying and waste tankering to hazardous waste management and site remediation. This deep knowledge allows them to handle complex jobs with confidence and efficiency.

“I can’t praise our team enough. They are fantastic people who represent us brilliantly across all of our sites. They have been very loyal to us, meaning our staff turnover is very low. We consider ourselves to be one big happy family!

“By continually investing in our tools and our team, our clients get the results they deserve.”

As CES Environmental Services continues to go from strength to strength, Flann and Claire would like to take this opportunity to thank their clients and suppliers for their support as well as their hard-working crew for their dedication and expertise.
