29 Apr , 2026

Celebrating 25 years as a limited company – it was founded as a sole trader in 1994 – KP Scanlon Ltd offers a complete range of mechanical services to a wide range of commercial, industrial and institutional clients across Ireland.

Based in Cork and fronted by brothers Kevin and Paul Scanlon, KP Scanlon has firmly established itself as a trusted leader in the mechanical and construction sectors. This is reflected in major industry recognition such as the Business All-Star Mechanical Engineering & Construction Services Company of the Year for 2025 and Business All-Star Accreditation, which coincided with its 30th anniversary in 2024. The award-winning company was also a finalist in the ‘Contractor of the Year’ and ‘Commercial Project of the Year’ categories at Ireland’s Plumbing & Heating Awards 2025.

KP Scanlon continues to go from strength to strength by exemplifying excellence through its dedication to quality, innovation, precision, customer service and industry-leading standards. Kevin and Paul are joined by a highly-skilled and motivated team that includes their brother Colin and Paul’s son Graham, who recently joined the family business. Financial controller Jacqui O’Driscoll also plays a critical role in day-to-day operations.

“We’re 32 years in business and in that time, we’ve earned a reputation as one of the leading mechanical services companies in the country with a level of expertise and service that is second to none. We pride ourselves on working with our clients to provide complete customer satisfaction,” Paul Scanlon says.

“As a family-run business, we’re always willing to go the extra mile and offer a personal service to our customers. This has led to a high volume of repeat business which has been key to our success. We enjoy an excellent relationship with all of our clients, suppliers and subcontractors. We’ve had many of the same customers for the past 20 years which speaks volumes about the service we offer them.”

The affable director continues: “It goes without saying that our greatest asset is our people. A company is nothing without a good team and we’re no exception. We’re very grateful to our employees for the work they do and the loyalty they’ve shown us. They’re reliable, likeable and easy to work with. It’s all about the next job in this game and they never let us down.”

Specialising in commercial, industrial, educational, pharmaceutical, healthcare, sports & leisure and domestic projects, KP Scanlon boasts a long list of valued clients, including main contractors such as Vision Contracting, OBR Construction, Cahalane Brothers, Summerhill Construction, John Cleary Developments, HBS Construction, Murphy & O’Sullivan Builders and MMD Construction. The company also holds the maintenance contract for MTU Cork.

Business is thriving for the Cork contractor as Paul explains: “Our current projects include a major fitout at CWS Cleanrooms’ facility in Blarney Business Park in conjunction with Summerhill Construction, Eli Lilly’s IE28 Building with Vision Contracting, 72 residential units with OBR Construction at Dublin Pike and AMS’s new extrusion plant in Little Island with MMD Construction. We also work directly for AMS.

“We’ve also just completed work on new cells in Cork Prison with Vision Contracting and are about to start a new Gaelscoil in Ennis with them. Other upcoming projects include 56 residential units in Ballincollig with OBR Construction and The Arches in Blackrock with Murphy & O’Sullivan Builders, which consists of 38 apartments.”

Health & Safety is a fundamental part of KP Scanlon’s philosophy. The company strives to provide a safe and healthy working environment for all persons employed on all projects and facilities that it manages, owns and operates. This is achieved by fully integrating health and safety into all that it does and by encouraging safety leadership and awareness at every level of the company.

KP Scanlon’s goal is to ensure zero injury or harm by eliminating or minimising, so far as is reasonably practicable, the causes of hazards inherent in the working environment. It attaches the greatest importance to the health and safety of all persons employed on its projects and facilities.

Furthermore, it is the company’s policy to implement environmental best practice with due regard to well-maintained equipment, disposal facilities and meeting the needs of environmental agencies. It is committed to leading the industry in minimising the impact of its activities on the environment.

“We work to the very highest standards and have a strict set of policies in place regarding quality, cost control and site safety. We are fully committed to our customers’ needs at all times,” Paul concludes.

KP Scanlon Ltd would like to take this opportunity to thank its clients, suppliers and subcontractors for their continued support as well as its own team for their hard work, dedication and expertise.
