The team at Ganson Building & Civil Engineering has many years of experience in the construction industry which enables them to offer a complete range of services to suit the requirements of their clients. They aim to work together with their clients and supply chain to build long lasting relationships and projects to be proud of. Joint-Managing Director David Rogers tells us more.
Why choose Ganson Building & Civil Engineering?
One of Ireland’s most progressive building and civil engineering companies, Ganson Building & Civil Engineering offers a full range of construction services including management contracting, design and build and partnerships in addition to traditional building arrangements.
The range of work undertaken varies in type and size from multimillion Euro contracts up to €30 million to small and medium sized projects.
The Balbriggan-based operation undertakes projects throughout Ireland and the UK and, with a second office in Castlewellan, they are a leading contractor in all sectors of public and private works.
With over 15 years experience, Ganson Building & Civil Engineering have built up significant resources and expertise with a current workload in excess of €80 million.
Their primary activity is undertaking large, complex projects in commercial, retail, tourism, high tech and institutional buildings, refurbishment and civil engineering works.
In addition to technical and plant resources, Ganson Building & Civil Engineering has a strong financial base, allowing execution of multiple large projects simultaneously.
The company’s success over the years is based on sound financial and management principles. The company prides itself on having a 100% credit ratings which is unprecedented in the construction industry.
At the time of speaking to joint-manager David Rogers, the company had 100 people on its payroll and that figure is expected to rise in the coming months.
“We’re very busy at the moment to be honest and very happy with how things are going,” the Louth native revealed. “We managed to keep busy during the downturn because we did a lot of work for the Department of Education. There was no real margin in that work but it kept us going, allowed us to keep our head above water.
“We did see a reduction in our staff numbers but we have built that back up in recent years.”
Ganson is the brainchild of David and Monaghan man Paul McQuaid, two old college friends from their days at Dundalk Regional Technical College and Queen’s University. Together, they have succeeded in making their company a leading player in the general building and civil engineering sector.
As the construction sector rebounds after a period of systemic decline, Ganson is spreading it’s wings by moving into the UK market. As per usual, it’s a challenge that David, Paul & Co are embracing with determination and enthusiasm.
David added: “We’ve moved into Northern Ireland, we’re currently working on a school in Warrenpoint. We’re also pricing work in London. Looking ahead to the future, we would be targeting more private work. That market is improving so we will be focussing a lot on that end of things.”
With a proven track record of success, proof of the quality of the company’s work can be found at Louth GAA’s Centre of Excellence at Darver, St Aidan’s School, Enniscorthy; Skerries Harps GAA club, Dublin; Scoil Mhuire, Lucan, Co Dublin; Dundalk Grammar School and Dundalk Institute of Technology to name but a few.
Ganson Building & Civil Engineering is fully committed to providing a quality service – completing projects to the highest standards, on time and within budget. The company is certified to ISO 9001:2008 and to ISO 14001: 2004 standards.
The company is also dedicated to maintaining a safe working environment for all employees and significant resources are deployed to ensure best practice in the areas of Health & Safety. In 2012, Ganson were awarded Safe-T-Cert accreditation, recognised by the International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA).
What are the secret ingredients of their winning formula? “Hard work,” replied David matter of factly.
“We guarantee a good job. We’re competitive when it comes to pricing which means we get our fair share of projects. While there have been signs of improvement, it will take another little while for prices to rise to where we would like them to be but they are heading in the right direction.
“As a company, we enjoy a lot of repeat business and we’re able to stand over the jobs we do.”
Employing the best people, technical and financial resources, Ganson Building & Civil Engineering ensure the best quality and cost effective solution for its customers.
