Rooneys Home and Hardware has officially begun its next chapter as Chadwicks Kells following its acquisition by Chadwicks Group,
A total of €1.3 million has been invested in the Chadwicks Kells branch since last year, delivering a significant upgrade and expansion of its trade and retail offering. The move brings together the strengths of both businesses, combining Rooneys’ strong local reputation, excellent service, established customer relationships and experienced team of 47 with Chadwicks’ scale and specialist expertise. The branch has significantly broadened its trade and retail offering and will also introduce In Home, Chadwicks’ new home interiors destination.
First established in Kells in 2014 and operating from its current premises since 2019, the branch has long played an important role in the local community. Many of its 47 colleagues have served local customers for years, with the existing team remaining at the heart of the business as it becomes Chadwicks Kells.
Alongside the standard Chadwicks builders’ merchant offering, customers can now shop a wider range spanning building materials, plumbing supplies, tools, workwear, garden, paint, agricultural products, pet and equestrian supplies and smart home heating controls.
The branch has also added to its specialist range to include steel, Sitetech concrete and brickwork accessories, Baumit insulation and smart home heating solutions, making it even better equipped to support trade professionals, DIY customers and homeowners.
A showroom featuring bathrooms, doors and flooring gives customers the opportunity to explore a wider range of options in person.
The relaunch marks the introduction of In Home, Chadwicks’ new home interiors destination, bringing a curated selection of kitchenware, gifting, lamps and lanterns and interior décor to Kells. Customers can also expect an impressive Euronics appliances range, spanning washing machines, tumble dryers, fridge freezers and more.
Among the new arrivals to the branch are premium brands including Max Benjamin, La Bougie, Field Day, The Handmade Soap Company, Foxford, Tramontina, Tipperary Crystal, Brabantia and YETI.
To mark the relaunch, Chadwicks Kells welcomed local trade customers for a day of in-branch activities including goodie bags, refreshments and product demonstrations from DeWALT, Makita and Tec7. Trade customers can continue the celebrations, with special promotions available at Chadwicks Kells until 12th September 2026.
A second celebratory event for families was held to mark the launch of the In Home brand, with offers on Euronics appliances, a special appearance from the Dulux dog, a Weber cooking demonstration and entertainment for all ages.
