Building Ireland travelled to Thurles, County Tipperary and touched base with commercial manager Seanie Fogarty to find out more about this industry-leading business.

A limited company since 2015, Allstar Tiling is owned and managed by founders David and Ryan Fogarty alongside Ryan’s brother, Seanie. “We’re supply-and-fit tiling contractors, specialising mainly in commercial projects as well as a small bit of residential work,” the latter reveals.
At the time of writing, Allstar Tiling were live on site with the aforementioned John Sisk & Son, John Paul Construction, PJ Hegarty & Sons, Collen Construction, JJ Rhatigan and Edgewater Contracts. Over the years, their excellent project management skills and ability to deliver superior solutions at competitive rates have seen them successfully win tenders for several large- and small-scale specialist tiling projects, including numerous hotel, office block and leisure centre refurbishment contracts.
From fit-outs to intricate designed layouts, Allstar Tiling has worked on all types of projects for all the leading construction firms in Ireland and the UK, their in-depth knowledge of their chosen area of expertise allowing them to work closely with leading suppliers and manufacturers to source the highest quality tiling products.
“We were very busy in the UK up until the Brexit vote, when Sterling shifted,” Seanie notes. “In the 15 months up until that, I’d say we completed up to ten hotels across the UK. At the moment, we’re mainly working nationwide in Ireland, with many projects ongoing in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Longford, etc.”
Hotels are very much the company’s bread and butter and some of these include countless Marriott Hotels and Maldron Hotels as well as, in recent times, the Clayton Hotels in Ballsbridge and Dublin Airport, to namedrop a handful.
“We also do quite a lot of office blocks, for example Block I at Central Park in Sandyford and The Herbert Park Hotel and office blocks in Ballsbridge with Sisk,” Seanie continues. “Showrooms would be another specialist market and we completed JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) in Cork and are also working on their office building in Shannon. We also did all the tiling on two garages in Dublin for MSL Motor Group, including their new Service Centre at Pottery Road, Dun Laoghaire.”
Regarding the essential qualities and attributes that have enabled Allstar Tiling to develop into such a highly sought after commercial tiling contractor, Seanie states: “First of all, we are a supply-and-fit contractor and there are not too many who are prepared to offer both services on large and complex projects.
“We also pride ourselves on meeting the pressure of the programme every time. We get in and get out in a suitable timeframe, delivering every project on time and to the required standard.”
As well as providing practical and high-performing solutions, every completed project also looks stunning… “Aesthetics and finish are key in any trade and all of our guys are very experienced in terms of delivering professional, quality workmanship that’s pleasing on the eye. We don’t get too many complaints anyway and all of the bigger contractors keeping coming back, which is particularly reassuring.”

As endorsements go, it doesn’t get much better than being asked to tile the spectacular, landmark Center Parcs forest resort in Longford, which is due to open in the summer of 2019 and where Allstar Tiling are supplying and fitting some 9,000 square metres of tiles. “That’s a marquee project for us at the moment,” says Seanie. “We’re tiling everything there, bar the lodges. The Aqua Sana is a large, high-end building with a lot of mosaic work. We’re doing 30 apartments, the village centre and restaurant, including all the floors, walls and pools. It’s a major project and we were delighted to get it.”
With up to 30 men on site at any given time, Allstar Tiling work hand in hand with project architects to source and fit the exact finish specified. The company is renowned as one of Ireland’s leading supply-and-fit tiling contractors and further growth is a distinct possibility.
“We’ve grown rapidly over the past two to three years,” Seanie concludes. “With the economy being as it is, we would hope to continue to grow into the future. There’s a good bit of work out there at the moment and, provided we keep providing high-quality solutions, I can only see the business getting bigger.”
