On November 29th, Premier Electrics were honoured with the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Award (International Category) at the 2018 Sisk Supply Chain Awards in Dublin.
Building Ireland found out more about the success of Premier Electrics and the Co Derry-headquartered company in the days that followed from Tony Shivers, Managing Director.
Since its inception in 1993, Premier Electrics has become a leader in delivering electrical installation and maintenance projects for clients in the commercial, industrial, leisure and retail sectors.
Head quartered in Mid-Ulster and with the recent opening of a Belfast City Centre office, over the last 25 years Premier Electrics has grown and now directly employs over 70 staff to become an award-winning company with a proud reputation for excellence in its work.
Speaking to Building Ireland Tony Shivers noted, “The main sectors of our business focus on the commercial, industrial, leisure and retail sectors and as a business we work both locally and across Europe.
“Over the last 25 years we have completed in excess of 1,000 installation projects and we take pride in offering an end to end solution with a dedicated in-house team that work in design, estimating, commissioning and maintenance. Our focus is on ensuring we deliver projects in an efficient, cost effective and timely manner.”
Placing great emphasis on building lasting business relationships Premier Electrics is proud to have a portfolio of prestigious clients many of whom the business works with on a recurring basis.
Alongside electrical installation projects the business has a growing Maintenance division offering both planned and reactive services to clients on a 24/7 basis.
Supporting this business growth Premier Electrics also recognises the importance of its people and the business is proud to have launched in 2018 its People Development Programme which represents an investment of £500,000 over the next 3 years and provides technical and soft skills training and development across all aspects of the business.
Commenting on this development, John Martin, General Manager explained: “Collaboration and teamwork are central to everything we do and our people take pride in working for Premier Electrics. As a business we recognise that we are only as good as our people and we therefore took the strategic decision to make this significant investment. The People Development Programme complements a number of ongoing initiatives we have implemented such as staff health surveillance, quarterly newsletters, nominated charity of the year and formation of a social committee.”
Premier Electrics also complements its workforce through its student placement programme and apprenticeship scheme training the electricians of the future.
Looking to the future Premier Electrics has a strong order book for 2019 and this combined with its focus on people development ensures that the future looks bright for Premier Electrics.
In November, Premier Electrics saw its endeavours in the area of Health, Safety and Wellbeing rewarded when the company won the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Award – International Category at the 2018 Sisk Supply Chain Awards in Dublin.
John Sisk & Son (‘Sisk’), is one of Ireland’s leading providers of construction services with extensive operations across Ireland, the United Kingdom and mainland Europe.
