Chadwicks is delighted to provide support to the Berry family from Athlone in the third series of DIY SOS: The Big Build Ireland.
As the exclusive building materials supplier to the show, Chadwicks will provide a wide range of materials to facilitate a significant refurbishment of the Berry family’s home to make it fully accessible in just nine days. Products provided will include plumbing materials including under floor heating, doors and door accessories, insulation, plasterboard, paint supplies, steel, timber, hire equipment, hardwood and garden materials.
In 2021, local firefighter Pa Berry and his partner Nicky commenced a renovation on their inherited family home in Athlone town. Having been left the property by his late grandfather, Pa set out to refurbish the existing home for his partner and three children, Kai (13), Rainah (9) and Nova (2). However, tragedy struck late last year when Pa was called to aid a nearby fire and sustained serious injuries as a result. Pa now faces a long and difficult road to recovery. Pa’s family are seeking help from the DIY SOS team to adapt their home to facilitate Pa’s rehabilitation needs as well as create a place that they can truly call home for the entire family.
Showcasing its commitment to Irish communities, the Chadwicks team will be on hand to support presenter Baz Ashmawy and the DIY SOS crew at the Berry family home as they aim to transform it to suit the family’s specific needs.
Commenting on the announcement is Marion Cunningham, Chadwicks Roscommon Branch Manager, “The Chadwicks Roscommon team is delighted to be involved in the third series of DIY SOS: The Big Build. When the team first heard of Pa’s story, we were inspired by his exceptional bravery and devoted commitment to supporting his local community. We are proud to be involved in such a worthwhile project and want to ensure that we create a home for the entire Berry family to cherish and enjoy.”
Now in its third series, DIY SOS: The Big Build has gained national acclaim for its inspiring renovations for families in need. In each episode an army of volunteer builders, labourers, tradespeople, suppliers, friends and neighbours come together to give their time and labour to support a local family.
DIY SOS: The Big Build Series 3 will air on RTÉ in late 2022.
