As part of an ongoing nationwide rebrand and upgrade by Chadwicks Group which commenced in 2018, Chadwicks Coolock has undergone a full refurbishment. Chadwicks Coolock has been serving the needs of the local community since 1970 and the new-look branch has been designed with the customer in mind.
Located at Greencastle Parade, Chadwicks Coolock is the 25th branch to have undergone a refresh, and customers will benefit from having the best in building supplies, plumbing and DIY all in one place. While enhancements have been made to the branch, customers can still expect to receive the same expert product knowledge from the team of 28 highly-trained merchanting specialists.
Chadwicks Coolock features over 1,000 new products for the trade, including new lines of workwear, paving displays, civil displays and an extended range of plant hire which can be reserved online. There are also new doors, floors and bathroom showrooms showcasing the latest products from a host of well-known brands.
A new coffee station has been added, allowing customers to meet and catch up while in the branch. There is also a community board and a trade board in the coffee area for information on local tradespeople and events happening locally. To keep customers informed on market trends and industry news, Chadwicks Coolock will also be introducing a series of trade-focused mornings in the coming weeks. Customers will have the opportunity to talk to suppliers and discuss new product ranges and materials across a four-week period from February 17.
Speaking at the unveiling of the revamped Coolock branch, Chadwicks Group CEO Patrick Atkinson commented: “We are proud to unveil the newly-refurbished Coolock branch. At Chadwicks, our priority is always our customer. Every time someone enters one of our branches, we want them to enjoy a best-in-class experience.
“This means having the best product range, coupled with expert product advice, all wrapped up seamless customer service. We look forward to welcoming new and existing customers back into Chadwicks Coolock and to continue to serve the needs of the construction industry in North Dublin.”
A key feature of the new Coolock store is the Chadwicks ECO Centre which provides customers with trustworthy and expert advice on the latest sustainable building products. As members of the Irish Green Building Council, Chadwicks aims to support customers in reducing their environmental impact using sustainable building solutions.
Also new to Chadwicks Coolock is the Fixing Centre, a “store within a store” concept which aims to provide builders, engineers and specialist tradespeople with all the tools and materials they may need in one convenient location. The Fixing Centre offers a host of fixing materials which includes setting chemicals, concrete anchors, nuts, bolts, nails and fixings, perfectly suited for any trade job. As well as having a substantial range in stock, customers can also order specialised fixings through the dedicated team consisting of fixing and tool specialists.
In addition to undergoing a revamp inside the branch, the outside has also enjoyed a makeover with the yard overhauled to provide easier access. New improvements to the exterior include designated van bays for easy loading, additional car park spaces and new Click and Collect bays to allow for speedy collection.
Chadwicks is one of Ireland’s leading suppliers of builders’ and plumbers’ materials. Part of Grafton Group plc, Chadwicks Group has 50 stores and over 1,300 colleagues nationwide. Thanks to their unrivalled knowledge and expertise in the construction sector, Chadwicks have been part of the fabric of everyday life in Ireland for over 200 years, providing building materials to homes, hotels, farms, transport networks and every other form of business across the country.
The company’s origins can be traced back to 1818 when Thomas Heiton set up business in Dublin as a coal importer and distributor, meeting the needs of the growing city. In the early 1900s, the business diversified, adding a sector specialising in iron products, and from the 1960s onwards, additional products such as timber and plumbing products were added.
The Chadwicks business was founded 120 years ago by William Thomas Chadwick at Talbot Place, Dublin to supply builders’ merchants and the major building contractors with cement and plaster produced in Ireland and abroad. During this time, all deliveries to Chadwicks’ customers throughout Dublin city and county were by horse-drawn vehicles.
In the 1950s, the business expanded, moving to bigger premises in Walkinstown and adding new lines such as fire clay to its range of building products. Further expansion took place in the 1960s, and in 1967 the company opened its first branch outside Dublin in Kilkenny.
Today, Chadwicks has branches dotted all over Ireland, including Chadwicks, Cork Builders Providers, Davies, Heiton Steel, Telfords and The Panelling Centre, all offering customers a huge range of timber, building materials and home improvement supplies.
The award-winning company prides itself on offering competitive prices over a large range of products with highly-trained staff willing to help with friendly advice whenever needed. Complete customer satisfaction is always guaranteed.
As with all branches, Chadwicks Coolock team members have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the building materials they supply. So whether it’s doors and floors, insulation, energy saving products, plumbing and heating, landscaping, tools, paint, stoves or water conservation products, they have you covered.
