Ireland’s premier provider of structured cabling and data centre infrastructure services, CET Connect, is expanding its operations across mainland Europe. With the in-demand telecommunications specialist very much on an upward trajectory, we touched base with Projects Director Paul O’Neill to get an update on the consistent growth of this exceptional Irish success story.

Tipperary-headquartered structured cabling specialist CET Connect is making its mark on the international stage, delivering connectivity both at home and abroad. Since its inception in 1999, CET has firmly established itself as a leading provider of structured cabling and data centre infrastructure services in Ireland, the UK and Europe and their sphere of influence continues to grow – in conjunction with their expertise, reputation for excellence and skilled workforce.

Over the past 23 years and counting, CET Connect – headquartered in Clonmel and with offices in Dublin, the UK, France, Sweden and Germany – has excelled in the critical fields of structured cabling, data centre infrastructure, fibre optic services, network design, fluke testing and network M.A.C.S, successfully delivering a wide range of major infrastructure projects across the continent, from Hyperscale Data Centre builds and award-winning landmark construction projects to the continued provision of services to multinationals in the pharmaceutical, life science, education and food sectors.

With the establishment of CET Connect Germany GmbH in late 2021, with its registered main office in Frankfurt, Ireland’s leading IT network infrastructure and structured cabling installation service provider took another major step forward.

“Entering the German market was a big undertaking and it has proven to be a major success for CET Connect,” notes  Projects Director Paul O’Neill. “We’re extremely busy in Germany, predominantly working on data centre projects.

“But it’s not just Germany – we are busy in all our markets as we are constantly developing new relationships and attracting new customers in existing regions as well.”

CET has amassed a wealth of experience in the design and installation of local area networks, including both fibre and copper backbone cabling. Clients appreciate their responsiveness and welcome their ‘can do’ attitude.

CET believe in a partnership approach with clients because this is the most effective way to make things happen and ensure things are done in accordance with the customers requirements. . Meanwhile, their own internal culture supports this approach, which is why every member of the CET Connect team delivers a high quality installation every time.

The Covid-19 pandemic and the public health measures taken to combat it made operating a pan European business more challenging and during this time our primary focus was on keeping our people safe. However, we did not lose sight of the opportunities within our sector and continuously communicated with our Customers about their difficulties whilst also continuing to develop our in house systems and processes so that, when restrictions were eased we were in a position to resolve any pent up demand that had built up for those customers.    This momentum has continued and CET Connect remains  very much in a period of expansion, currently generating  employment for 150 highly-skilled specialists all over Ireland and Europe,  together with 20 personnel based at the head office in Clonmel and another 12 in the operations office in the Irish capital.

Paul, who divides his time between both offices, reflects:

Over the past decade in particular the world has experiences revolutionary advancements in electronic communications and data storage and transmission. The importance of the physical layer (Fibre and Copper Network Cabling) and the part it plays in ensuring unfaltering connectivity is acknowledged by all involved in the provision of these systems.
