Egis UK & Ireland has announced the appointment of Helen Bray as Finance Director of the company’s Operations and Maintenance division.
Helen has been promoted to the position following an extensive career in Egis in which she has held a number of senior financial roles.
A native of Cahir, in Co Tipperary, Helen initially worked with National Toll Roads (NTR) and moved across to Egis when NTR’s operation and maintenance division was acquired by Egis in 2010. She has since served as Group Financial Controller for Egis Projects from 2011 to 2021 and since 2022 as Chief Financial Officer of Egis Ireland.
As part of a new restructuring, Egis Ireland is now part of Egis UK & Ireland. The move forms part of Egis’ ambition to significantly expand its operations across the UK and Ireland as priority markets. It also allows Egis to combine the strength of its teams in both Ireland and the UK to assist in addressing pressing infrastructure needs in both regions.
In her new role, Helen will lead on finance across Egis’ combined UK & Ireland Operations and Maintenance portfolio.
In Ireland, the portfolio includes the operation and maintenance of over 470km of motorways, the Dublin Tunnel and the Jack Lynch Tunnel. It also involves operating the Motorway Operations Control Centre, monitoring 1,200km of the national road network.
In the UK, it includes overseeing the operation of M40 motorway and operating the M25, as part of the Connect Plus Services consortium.
It also includes Mobiie, Egis’ joint venture with Arcadis, which operates the Traffic Scotland National Control Centre, monitoring over 3,500km of Scotland’s trunk road network on behalf of Transport Scotland.
Announcing the appointment Alain Bruneau, Chief Financial Officer of Consulting & Operations at Egis Group said: “We are pleased to announce Helen’s appointment to this important position at a time when our clients are seeking to ensure infrastructure is operated and maintained to the highest standards with a particular emphasis on value for money, sustainability and resilience. Helen brings extensive experience and expertise to the role and is well-positioned to play a crucial part in managing and growing our operations and maintenance portfolio across the UK and Ireland.”
Helen Bray, Operations and Maintenance Finance Director, Egis UK & Ireland, said: “The UK & Ireland Operations & Maintenance business has grown significantly in recent years, and I am looking forward to supporting its ongoing development. I’m excited to work closely with colleagues to strengthen financial control, support contract-level performance and continue delivering for our clients.”
