Luxury home builds from Byrne McKevitt LTD

6 May , 2026

Celebrating five years in business in 2026, Byrne McKevitt LTD is a young and dynamic company which prides itself on delivering bespoke luxury homes for clients across the Dublin area.

Developing some of the most exclusive properties in Ireland, the Newry, Co. Down-based contracting firm has earned a stellar reputation for high-end residential new builds and renovations. Byrne McKevitt LTD has a proven track record for crafting dream homes that reflect the unique tastes and lifestyles of its valued clients.

“Our projects typically range from €2 million to €5 million in value,” co-director Niall McKevitt explains.

“We specialise in delivering luxurious new builds, extensions and renovations that are beautiful, contemporary and energy-efficient. We employ a skilled team that can make your dreams a reality.”

Residential works account for 90% of Byrne McKevitt LTD’s business, with commercial and fitout projects making up the other 10%. Among its recent / current projects are a €4 million housing development in Clontarf, a 5,000 sq. ft. new build at Hazelwood, Grove Road, Malahide, a 6,500 sq. ft. new build beside Clogga Beach in Arklow, a 4,800 sq. ft. new build on Ceanchor Road in Howth, another new build at Cannon Rock View in Howth and a high-end renovation in Georgian Village, Castleknock.

Now ready for handover, the Clontarf project involved the construction of four two-storey basement detached dwellings with a single storey element. Two of the houses comprise six bedrooms and are directly accessible via private vehicular entrances off Seafield Road East. The other two houses comprise four bedrooms and will be situated to the rear of the site, with access via a shared vehicular entrance. Peter Owens of Tyler Owens Architect was the architect on the project.

Commenting on the other live projects, Niall says: “We’re carrying out the full demolition and rebuild of Hazelwood, which is a short distance from the Grand Hotel in Malahide. It’s a red-brick Period-style home which was also designed by Tyler Owens.

“Clogga Bay is another magnificent high-end property with a long driveway into it. It’s an 18-month project due for handover at Christmas. ‘Astra’ on Ceanchor Road boasts a 15m x 3m swimming pool and stepdown cinema. That will be handed over in March.

“We’ve recently started two more projects in Cannon Rock View and Georgian Village. The new build at Cannon Rock View offers breathtaking panoramic views of Howth Harbour, Ireland’s Eye and Dublin. We have plenty of work to keep us busy.”

Just as their fathers did before them, directors Niall McKevitt and Tony Byrne joined forces in 2021 to form the company. It was a natural fit for the lifelong friends who have never been far from a construction site.

“I’m 30 and Tony is 29, so we’re very close in age,” Niall says.

“We went to school together in ‘The Abbey’ (Abbey CBS Grammar School), went to Ulster University together, played football together and worked in our fathers’ business together, so we have a lot in common. In addition, we both worked for Tier 1 contractors in Dublin after graduating from university. I’m an engineer and Tony’s a quantity surveyor. Five years ago, we decided to combine our expertise and haven’t looked back since.”

He adds: “Construction is in our blood. Our fathers, Patrick McKevitt and Brian Byrne, have run Byrne & McKevitt Joinery Works since 1991, while my grandfather Brian and his brother Dan ran McKevitt Bros which built approximately 200 houses in Newry. So you could say that we’re third-generation builders.”

Superior workmanship, attention to detail, value-for-money and a commitment to working closely with clients to deliver total satisfaction are the hallmarks of Byrne McKevitt LTD. Health & Safety and sustainability are at the heart of operations. From concept to completion, the team is with you every step of the way, ensuring that your new project is designed and built to your specific needs, and that there are no hidden or extra costs involved.

Whether your next project is a new build or refurbishment, Byrne McKevitt LTD’s one-stop shop approach will ensure that both the design and building processes are smooth, comfortable and hassle-free. The Co. Down contractor’s reputation for quality construction and ability to complete projects on time and within the agreed budget is borne out by the high volume of repeat business and referrals it receives from designer teams and scores of satisfied clients.

By employing highly-skilled people, working closely with the exceptional engineers and architects, and using only the very best building products, this fully insured company is able to deliver the highest quality construction to its clients. Niall and Tony have 10 direct employees who are supported and supplemented by 30-40 tried and trusted subcontractors, including Robbie McGovern Plumbing & Heating, Leecapa Ltd, John McCarthy Electrics, Neal Cronin Electrical, A Mac Plastering, C&C Roofing, Robert Merrigan Plastering, East Coast Energy, Eoin O’Neill Electrical and Correct Paving.

Suppliers include Murdock Builders Merchants, Roadstone, Vindr VS Windows & Doors, the aforementioned Byrne & McKevitt Joinery Works, AllStone, Doran Kitchens, Mastercraft Joinery, ADM Floor Screed, Ken Donoghue Grab Hire, SAM Engineering & Fabricators, Deluxe Bathrooms & Tiling and Nationwide Energy Consultants. Byrne McKevitt LTD also collaborates with Tyler Owens Architects, PJ Mastery Group Consulting Engineers, Wilson Hill Architects and Patricia Power Quantity Surveyor of RTÉ’s Room to Improve fame on a regular basis.

“Despite our relative youth, Tony and I have a wealth of experience in the industry. We’re very approachable and are committed to building long-lasting and successful relationships. We’re constantly investing in new plant and equipment, the latest being new diggers and a self-erecting crane.

“We have a good eye for detail and will always go the extra mile for our clients. Nearly all of our work is secured through word of mouth and recommendations from architects we deal with. We’ve never had to advertise,” the co-director proudly adds.

As Byrne McKevitt LTD continues to go from strength to strength, Niall and Tony would like to take this opportunity to thank their clients, suppliers and design teams for their unwavering support as well as their staff and subcontractors for their hard work, dedication and skill.

“Our people are our greatest asset. It’s a real team effort,” he concludes.

Here’s to the next five years and many more!
