ROR Plant & Civils was set-up in Virginia, Co Cavan in 2010 and in the past seven years it has earned a reputation for providing its clientele with a quality service. Managing Director Ronan O’Reilly explained about the services they provide and some of the recent projects they’ve been working on.
When Ronan O’Reilly first set-up his Plant Hire and Civil Works venture, it was very much a bold move at the time having been carried out right in the midst of an economic recession.
Now, some seven years later, business is thriving to the point where Ronan will soon be looking to add to his staff count, which currently sits at 25-strong, should the current steady flow of contracts continue.
Since ‘Day One’, ROR Plant & Civils has specialised in the rental of plant equipment, civil works and groundworks with its dedicated, fully trained team carrying out services in counties Cavan, Meath, Dublin and nationwide.
The company prides itself on conducting all work with safety in mind and ensuring it is completed to the highest professional standard.
A native of Virginia, Ronan has been immersed in machinery work since the days he first helped out his father John O’Reilly in agricultural contracting as a young lad.
Despite many years having passed between now and then, he’s followed a similar course and now it’s his father who’s helping him out with his business venture on a daily basis.
“We’re based in Virginia, Co Cavan and our offices are in Virginia Shopping Centre. Our Yard is based out along the Mullagh Road,” explained Ronan.
“We started up in 2010 but my father would’ve been building houses in 2008. Right now we have 25 staff and I’m the Managing Director of the company.
“What we do is Plant Hire and Groundworks; they would be our main bread and butter. We’ve been working on Punchestown Racecourse for Elliotts and just finished off 17 houses for Elliotts in Malahide. We also have a project in Rathfarnham with 168 houses which started in September and completed the new mill for AW Ennis in Virginia.”
Having had many years of previous experience to stand to them, it didn’t take ROR Plant & Civils very long to become known as an experienced, reliable company which offers its customers a truly personal service.
From plant hire to civil works and groundworks, the company endeavours to carry out all work on budget and on time. All of their work is conducted in a safe manner by a fully qualified team.
Indeed the dedicated team at ROR Plant & Civils have a wealth of experience in conducting civil works projects of all sizes throughout the country. From site developments to car parks and schools, they have completed both minor and major civil works projects on a national basis.
During their seven years in business, the Virginia-based firm have become known for offering smart, innovate solutions when it comes to civil works.
The list of clients for the company include the likes of Elliott Group, B&C Contractors and AW Ennis (amongst others) and Ronan himself explained that business is in a very good place right now compared to a couple of years back.
“Business is a lot better than it was a few years ago,” he said. “2014 to 2015 were tough years but we got through them and there’s plenty of work now if you want it.
“We have expanded and we have a lot of loyal employees working for us. I’d say that’s part of why the business has been a success so far.”
ROR Plant & Civils have carried out groundwork projects nationwide with a team which are fully insured and carry out all work to the highest professional standard.
They possess all the machinery and equipment necessary to conduct their work both on budget and on time.
From building houses to floor level and concrete work through to drainage and site clearance, ROR Plant & Civils extensive range of expertise means that they can get the job done.
Having completed many different groundwork projects both large and small, there’s almost nothing that they haven’t done numerous times previous.
In fact, ROR Plant & Civils have completed countless civil works and groundwork projects during their relatively short time in business and are both proud and privileged to have been entrusted with both projects on a smaller scale, as well as work on a larger scale.
They boast a mix of private and commercial work in their portfolio, with much of the work coming through word of mouth recommendations from previous satisfied clients.
So what’s the secret to ensuring that their clients continue to choose them first? The man himself feels it’s down to a couple of different factors.
“I think they choose us because we always deliver on time,” said Ronan. “Clients are always dealing with me on site and we have the resources to deliver for them.
“There’s never a problem with the quality of work. We have a good track record with our Health and Safety too.”
A state of the art machinery fleet helps too, according to the Managing Director.
“All our machines are fresh and there’s absolutely no downtime with them,” he said. “We have everything from three-tonne to 30-tonne diggers and at the minute we have seven track machines here.”
Now, with 2018 just around the corner, the plan at ROR Plant & Civils is to grow their numbers, with Ronan commenting “we are hoping that within the next 12 months we’ll be employing up to 40 staff”.
With safety at the forefront of their priorities, clients can rest assured that ROR Plant Hire & Civils provide a reliable, personal service. They bring the same level of commitment, professionalism and reliability to every job, no matter what the size
